Total wahala has officially landed on the timeline, and this time, it is hitting 30BG right where it hurts the most! The internet is currently on fire as furious music lovers and netizens threaten to completely boycott Davido December concerts following intense political drama surrounding the Adeleke family.
As you are reading this, the Lagos streets and the X (formerly Twitter) bird app are totally divided. While the 30BG loyalists are busy defending their OBO with full chest, a massive faction of angry fans have taken to social media to declare that they will not be stepping foot into any of the Davido December concerts this year. The bone of contention? Deep-seated frustrations over political alignments and recent family endorsements that have left hardcore stans feeling betrayed.
Why the Internet is Dragging Davido Over Political Wahala
For weeks now, the conversation online has shifted aggressively from pure Afrobeats cruise to heavy-duty Nigerian politics. Critics and aggrieved fans have been dragging the Adeleke dynasty up and down, claiming that their political choices do not align with the suffering masses on the streets. Unfortunately for our standard-bearer, the heat has rolled right onto his doorstep, putting his highly anticipated Davido December concerts in serious jeopardy.
“How can we be shouting hardship on the streets while they are dining and smiling with the oppressors? No way! We are staying home this December!” one angry user tweeted, sparking a wild chain reaction that has now trended for days. Another netizen dropped a hot take saying, OBO na our guy, but enjoyment must not supersede reality. Let’s see how many tickets they will sell without us!
Will 30BG Weather the Storm?
Despite the heavy threats making rounds online, industry insiders know better than to write off the undisputed king of hit songs. Davido’s team has remained largely tight-lipped about the boycott threats, focusing instead on dropping heavy numbers and keeping the Davido December concerts buzz alive. But make no mistake, the pressure is very much on!
Will the fans actually follow through on their threat to boycott, or will the love for Timeless bangers swallow all political anger once December hits Lagos? Drop your thoughts in the comments, because this gist is getting spicier by the second!
