Wahala Dey! Inside the Crazy ₦2 Million Lagos Side-Hustle Scam That Has Tech Bros Shaking and the Internet Screaming!

Omo! If you think you have seen it all on these Lagos streets, think again! The internet is currently on fire, and the TL is completely divided over a jaw-dropping tech empowerment scam that has left many ambitious youths regretting the day they ever heard the word ‘coding’.

According to reports making heavy rounds across social media, a self-acclaimed tech guru recently promised desperate job-seekers a golden ticket out of unemployment through an intensive ‘quick-cash’ digital skills bootcamp. The catch? Participants had to cough up a non-refundable registration fee of ₦50,000 each under the guise of unlocking high-paying remote gigs.

How the ₦2 Million Lagos Youth Scam Went Down

Trust Lagosians to always hustle, but this particular move went south faster than a Danfo driver dodging LASTMA! Over 40 unsuspecting youths reportedly paid into the mysterious platform, expecting to learn coding, UI/UX design, and data analytics in just two weeks. Instead of landing juicy dollar-denominated gigs, they met absolute silence!

‘They locked the WhatsApp group!’ one angry victim screamed on X (formerly Twitter). Another disgruntled participant revealed how the supposed CEO blocked everyone immediately the final payment hit the bank account, leaving them stranded with zero skills and empty pockets.

Netizens React as Tech Bros and Hustlers Clash Online

As expected, the street didn’t carry this matter lightly. While some sympathized with the victims, a massive section of ‘cyber-detectives’ dragged them for falling for obvious red flags. ‘How can you learn full-stack software engineering in 14 days and expect to earn 5k dollars monthly?’ one savage user posted, sparking a massive online debate about youth desperation and unemployment in Nigeria.

With economic pressure pushing many to seek desperate measures, experts have repeatedly warned youths to verify training institutes before parting with their hard-earned cash. For now, the #LagosTechScam trend is showing zero signs of slowing down, and we are right here with our popcorn waiting for the next update!
