Wahala dey! The internet streets are completely buzzing right now after a daring Nigerian lawyer took the global tech giant Meta head-on and came out victorious, forcing them to restore five disabled Instagram accounts that had previously vanished into thin air!
For months, social media influencers, business owners, and regular content creators have been crying out over the arbitrary and heartless banning of their pages by automated algorithms. Many thought it was the end of the road, accepting their fate after dealing with endless robot support chats that led nowhere.
However, one dogged legal practitioner decided enough was enough. Refusing to take ‘system error’ for an answer, he slammed a heavy lawsuit against Meta over the permanently disabled Instagram accounts, sending shockwaves through the tech community and giving hope to thousands of victims across the country.
How the Legal Battle Unfolded on Nigerian X
As soon as the news broke, Nigerian X (formerly Twitter) went completely wild. Netizens began sharing their own horror stories of losing years of hard work, memories, and millions of Naira in business revenue overnight due to sudden bans.
‘Meta thought they could bully Nigerians forever!’ one excited user tweeted, while another screamed, ‘Legal ginger is the best ginger!’ The pressure became so intense that the tech giant had no choice but to bow to legal pressure and restore all five accounts in full working condition.
This landmark win has now opened the floodgates. Industry insiders are predicting a massive wave of lawsuits against social media platforms by aggrieved Nigerian users who want their digital properties back. Will this force Meta to establish a physical or more responsive office for African users? Only time will tell, but for now, the streets are celebrating a massive David versus Goliath victory!
